Filipina Cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao as the Baroness
Evil never looked this good. Filipina cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao brings to life every thirtysomething geek’s fantasies, dynamically portraying the villainous Baroness from the original GI Joe series. Fortunately for the free world, photographer Richie dela Merced has successfully captured Cobra’s seductively deadly second-in-command — with his camera. How fitting that a toy collector would herself dress up as a classic toy.
Here’s an interesting bit of trivia: in the last arc of the original GI Joe comic book continuity, the Baroness set up her own private army. In an interesting parallel, Alodia recently set up her own cosplay organization. Clearly, Alodia and the Baroness have at least two things in common: beauty and influence.

Alodia and her sister Ashley have been chosen to represent the Philippines at the Anime Festival Asia Regional Cosplay Championship 2009.
